Born and raised in the Ogden area, Megan Grunander received her undergraduate education locally from Weber State University. Megan went to the University of Utah School of Medicine for her medical degree before moving to California for her specialized training.

Megan completed her General Surgery internship at USFC School of Medicine and a residency at Harbor UCLA where she was Chief Resident. Megan is double board-certified in General Surgery and Trauma/Critical Care after completing a fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care from Cedars-Sinai.

Dr. Grunander returned home to practice in Ogden. With a medical office at Ogden Clinic’s Professional Center, she performs surgeries at all local hospitals: McKay Dee Hospital, Ogden Regional Medical Center, and Mount Ogden Surgical Center. She is the Assistant Director of Trauma and Intensive Care at Ogden Regional Medical Center.

In addition to her surgical experience, Dr. Grunander is an assistant professor for the University of Utah’s School of Medicine where she also sits on the admissions committee. She’s a current member of the Board of Directors at Ogden Clinic.

Surgical Care that Comes Full-Circle

Along with her General Surgery practice, Dr. Grunander also performs screening colonoscopies to detect colon cancer and other abnormalities. Patients can take comfort knowing that if polyps or other problems are detected, their same surgeon who screens for problems is prepared to tackle them.

Dr. Grunander takes Trauma Call at Ogden Regional Medical Center’s Level 2 Trauma Center. She is the only surgeon in the area to perform both general surgery and critical care surgery. So whether you’re preventing future problems with a screening visit or need an immediate operation, trust Dr. Megan Grunander for prompt medical care wrapped up with compassion.
